Artist bio: Douglas Kirkland is a multi award-winning celebrity photographer whose subjects range from Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe and Audrey Hepburn to Jack Nicholson, Angelina Jolie, George Clooney and Elle Fanning. His career spans over 60 years and his photographs are in the permanent collections of museums around the world. Some of his books include Freeze Frame, Coco Chanel Three Weeks, Marilyn - An Evening 1961 and a comprehensive monograph on his career, Douglas Kirkland - A Life in Pictures came out in the Fall of 2013. Come Una Pin-Up, a playful homage to illustrator Gil Elvgren was published in Italy in the summer of 2014. A limited de luxe edition of his last book, When We Were Young was published in 2015. Freeze Frame: Second Cut, published by Glitterati, will be coming out in Spring of 2017.
He has enjoyed a long-term career spanning over fifty years with no sign of slowing down. When he is not traveling the globe on assignment with his wife and business partner Francoise, his home and studio is in the Hollywood Hills.
